Thank you to everyone who contributed to the art scholarship fund in memory of Jerry Power. Thanks to your generous support, scholarships have been created to honor both where Jerry came from and where he was going.

Nearly 15 years ago, Shiawassee Art Center in Owasso, Michigan hosted one of Jerry's first one-man shows and supported him ever since. A $500 scholarship will be started in his name and will be awarded as part of their juried student competition.

So much of his work was focused on his love of northern Michigan, which resulted in an eventual move to Benzie County in 2009. We believe that supporting a student's education where he became a local is a fitting tribute. A $500 scholarship will be started in his name and will be awarded based on an art portfolio and artist's statement of a local student.

An additional contribution will be made to the Crystal Lake Art Center in Frankfort, MI to help children who would otherwise be unable to afford enrichment classes in the arts. Jerry excelled at teaching, and helping kids be able to explore a talent they might have was an important part of who he was.

Jerry is missed every day - as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and artist. Your help in creating these scholarships ensures that his legacy continues for years to come.
